Still inhabitedby the same family since the 12th century, the castle of Menthon was the birthplace of the legendary St Bernard de Menthon, patron saint of all Alpine mountaineers. Built between the 12th and 19th centuries, and still preserving many of its original furnishings and period interiors, the castle commands
a magnificent view over Lake Annecy. In addition to its great library, discover how this medieval fortress was transformed into a splendid 19th century castle. On week-ends and public holidays visits are animated by actors in period costume.

- Menthon-Saint-Bernard / Talloires golf
9 kilometers from Annecy,
between Menthon-Saint-Bernard and Talloires, (the local region) the Golf of the
Annecy Lake occupies a very privileged location. The course develops on the
marvellous site of the “Rock de Chère”, being protected green zone and natural
reserves. The area dominates Europes purest lake and France’s 2nd largest, and
is surrounded by mountains. Each hole being undulating and wooded, makes it
possible to enjoy superb panoramas, but remains challenging as the game should
- Angon waterfall - Talloires -
This walk close to Annecy can be done in less than two hours.From Annecy, after having crossed the by-pass Talloires, you will find to a few hundred meters a road on the left to the village of Angon. Still 300m before discovering a path in the underwood. A dustbin and an inscription in red (blade) mark the starting point. The walk up is pleasant, in 1 hour you should discover the site of the cascade of Angon. Take
time to observe the sight over the Lake of Annecy and its bank Western with the castle of Duingt. If you are bolder, will know that this cascade is also a traditional site of canyoning.

With a 14,6 km length and
a maximum width of 3,1 km the Annecy Lake offers all the conditions that are
ideal for water sports. The lake being mainly North-South, northerly winds
facilitate sports such as the fun-board or the kite-surf. Predominantly, a light
breeze from West is just nice for other traditional sailing sports. The S.R.V.A
